Case Description
Common Ground — a project by Casey Jennings, Ponderosa Drive, A Plus Signs and Creative — aims to to use parts of the street in order to create space for people to gather and for local restaurants to continue their business. By painting a bright blue grid of 8’x8’ squares that allows people to keep the right social distancing. As the capacity of local restaurants was limited due to Covid-related restrictions, Common Ground allowed them to extend their capacity and keep their business running.
Relation to Resilience
By enabling local restaurants to continue their business during times of restriction, Common Ground contributes to keeping the local economy running while also enabling people to gather and reconnect with one another.
