Case Description
With many sports activities on hold during periods of lockdown, people needed safe ways to restart these activities. The design studio Accept & Proceed redesigned a football pitch of London, as well as the rules of the game, based on social distancing measures. “The pitch has been sectioned into compartments, so each player, based on known formations that a current football team would deploy. Players must not leave the delineated zone”. The zones are indicated by high contrast colors.
Relation to Resilience
The design, which remains to this day a conceptual proposal, aimed to enable people to engage in amateur sports activities again after a period of lockdown. If implemented, it would have allowed for people to reinitiate their weekly rhythms, reconnecting them with friends while being physically active.
